Michigan fishing resources
Michigan’s classic cold-water river, known for cedar-lined channels, long pools and an influential dry-fly tradition. Target species include Brown, brook and rainbow trout. Excellent public access and canoe launches; wading varies by branch and substrate. Productive timing is Late April through June for major hatches, then summer evenings and fall streamer fishing. Major hatches and foods include Hendricksons, sulphurs, brown drakes, hex, isonychia, caddis and olives. Common approaches are Dry flies and emergers during hatches; night fishing, mice and streamers for larger browns.
